Now at mikedev@fediversity.site. This could've been a nomadic clone or even an account migration, but that's all ancient technology now and this time I wanted to do something completely different.
OK, let's see how this goes. This is a new channel ( @
Mike Macgirvin (dev) ), specifically for communications about software development and the fediverse, and more specifically the streams repository, nomadic identity, and online safety. Also historical perspectives about communications projects and technologies I've been involved with for the last 40-50 years. My original channel is soon to be pruned of everybody except close friends and family and will remain that way going forward.
If our interactions have to do primarily with technology or if we really don't have any interactions, this channel is the best choice. I will be using the identity manager from the streams repository and share some public posts from the personal channel here, so it won't all be tech. But my intention is that the personal channel will be personal, period.
Hosting for this instance is provided by our good friends at
K&T Host. I will just say the infrastructure is truly impressive. This should provide orders of magnitude better performance than my existing shared hosting account and result in a lot less broken images and 'Site unavailable' messages on busy days. Cheers.
