Here it would be a family of ducks or an echidna. I've seen them bring the entire coastal freeway to a stop at rush hour. Closer to home, turtles. At least once a month here on the Road to Nowhere.

This phenomenon has definitely been one of the biggest signs that we no longer live in mega city. The encounters with wildlife were just different; backyard skunks, driveway raccoons, midnight coyotes...

@mike We're also not even close to Road to Nowhere. I had to look up echidna. That thing is a cutie. I can see how it can bring a freeway to a stop at rush hour.
