Just replaced the lithium battery in my guitar processor. 24 years on the same battery. Was prepared for the worst because the last backup I did of my custom patches was about 12 years ago and don't recall exactly where I stored them.
Not sure what they're using for persistent memory in this thing, but my custom patches survived a battery swap while unplugged - and this technology is a few years older than flash drives. Colour me impressed!
Now if I can only figure out how they've screwed up Audacity so much that the entire audio sub-system and transport controls hard reset to defaults "randomly" but predictably every 2-3 minutes or so.
This merely punctuates why I regret moving all my recording technology from dedicated hardware to a desktop PC. One ends up spending 10-20 times as much time chasing down weird bugs and software interactions and obscure settings than they do actually making music.
