No accord

The Sunni Accord Front is leaving the Iraq government. It took less than a week for Iraq to completely unravel at the seams. Civil War is exploding across the country.

The cause of all of this? A mosque was bombed. If you recall, the US was forced to tread very delicately around mosques during the invasion and al-Sadr campaigns. Maybe it's Zarqawi, maybe somebody else. But the Iraqi psyche has a built-in trigger point. Mess with the mosques and they get seriously pissed off. It was only a matter of time before somebody exploited that trait.

US to sell harbors

There's a bit of a stink raising over the sale of the operations of six seaports to a company in either UAE or Dubai - the stories are conflicting. Questions are being raised about the potential homeland security issues of an Arab country controlling our ocean ports.

I look at it as more of an issue of selling out the country.  Why don't we sell them the Smithsonian? The Mississippi River? We could use the cash... Heck, why don't we sell them the White House?

Oh wait...

"If a nation values anything more than freedom, it will lose its freedom; and
the irony of it is that if it is comfort or money it values more, it will
lose that, too."
-- W. Somerset Maugham
