Stayed up pretty late (or early depending on how you read the clock) getting a new laptop setup and configured with everything I might ever need on the road. Finally got the X-10 controller and started mucking around with the software for that. Slogging bocks the whole time. My brain aches a bit this morning, so I'm trying to counteract with caffeine.

Word for the day - multitasking. Starting on the next 10 feet or so of retaining wall. Working on the web controls for the webcam switcher. Probably will put in an hour or two on Lovira architecture. Then if there's any time left I'll plop the Linux CD into the old laptop and make it useful again. But after two nights of configuring operating systems from ground zero to useful (and getting rid of all the obligatory crap like net2phone and msn activators), I'm not sure I want to spend a third night doing the same. But it's linux so it isn't quite as brain-warping and you aren't forced to sit through another run of the Windows Millenium startup movie and all the software registration screens.

Just found out that the great John Lee Hooker passed on last week. We'll miss ya' dude.

Also wanted to comment on the fact that the only thing more likely to get you a Darwin Award than buying a mobile home in Oklahoma or South Carolina has to be getting on a train in India. Sheesh, another slaughter.
