Up days, down days, in-between days. Up days, down days...

Up days, down days, in-between days. Up days, down days... I'm starting to get seasick. Have to just let go. Doesn't seem to be any kind of economic trend to latch onto at the moment. I might need some trumpets. Soon. But that's a big order. Waiting for the cash to pay for it while also knowing they'll take a week to get here. It probably wouldn't be a cool thing to run completely out of trumpets right before school starts. This is going to take some fancy footwork.

First I need an account with the trumpet supplier. RJ. Yeah I know him. Made a point to say hello at the NAMM show back in January. But I haven't yet placed an order with him. Still had plenty of trumpets. But they're dwindling away. This is gonna' be one of those dozen piece orders to establish an account. That's like 4-5 thousand bucks. And a few days to get the account rolling and another 5-7 to ship across country. School starts in like two weeks. On the plus side, a few of those dozen pieces could be trombones. On the minus side, it's like 4-5 thousand bucks. And I still have no folios. I might learn some hard lessons this rental season.

And I'm starting to run out of cheap guitars again. Where did all that money go? Where's that blasted accountant? Oh, nevermind. That's right - it went into clarinets and saxes and flutes and lots and lots of books (*). And the saxes are almost gone again as well. Yo, accountant! On the double. What? He embezzled 536 dollars from me and fled to Argentina? Lucky bastard. You - stock boy. Whatever your name is. You're the CFO now. It's simple. Green and red. Think you can handle it?

(*) Right now, I'm the publishers' best friend. First there was that thousand dollar raffle I think I won (curious that confirmation didn't follow shortly afterward). Then a guy calls me last week. Hi. Wow! Who are you? We just looked at our spreadsheets and your name popped out in the top of the green column and I thought I'd say hi and I'm your district rep and if there's anything I can yada, yada, yada.... seems that I increased this store's normal order by a couple thousand percent. Things like that set off software alarms and stuff. That's right. That's what I did. Thanks, but I've got plenty of books right now. Got any Blink182? Trios for piano, flute, and cello? No? Bye. I have to concede that he even tried to look for it, but that's some of the special service you get when you're in the green.
