Got to work early this morning so I could spend a bit of uninterrupted time rummaging through the treasure trove - er I mean attic. Dug out a drum set that I knew was there but only finally managed to clear a path to. Still have to come up with a full set of hardware for it but I think I've got most everything I need. The treasure du jour was finding two brand new euphoniums, still in wrapped boxes. Think tuba if you're not sure what a euphonium is. Then stumbled across an old Conn alto sax, silver-plated. I'll have to see if it's playable. My guess is that it isn't because it's a real collecter's piece otherwise.

A lot of cops across the street. Somebody found a pool of blood on the sidewalk and they're trying to figure out where it came from and what the heck happened. According to the detective, "It's enough blood that we're a bit concerned".

As I suspected, the sax is toast. Oh well, another pretty display piece. The drum set is pretty cool but I'll have to replace all the heads and find a bass kicker and a couple of cymbal stands for it. Probably have a couple already but I want to fix it up right. Think I'll take the set home and learn to play it. I'll also take one of the euphoniums home. I already know how to play that (don't ask). I know somebody who'll buy the other as soon as he sees it. All I have to do is set it out and wait.

The country once known as Palestine is beyond flash point I'm afraid. It's looking like full scale war. Remember, Palestinians are living essentially in perpetual refugee camps. They have a lot of allies. Israel has uhm... one. Somehow over the last year or two of semi-autonomy (yeah right) they seem to have acquired a friggin' lot of guns. They couldn't really do that under direct Israeli occupation. Damn. I really wanted to go to the West Bank and do some snorkelling. Guess it'll have to wait.
