And what a lovely day it is, tax day and all.

And what a lovely day it is, tax day and all. The wind has subsided and small gusts of summer flow through. Here in urbania, you live and die by the street. The street is still a bit chilly. But the trucks keep humming. Condos, high-rises, all slated for completion in the coming months. Build it and they'll come. San Jose tried that. Sunnyvale's doing the same. I recall the first high-rise in Mountain View sitting vacant for what ten years or so during the chills of the semi boom. But the homes will fill. There are elements of a music scene out on the streets. Guess it's spring - or the three weeks left before summer breaks out everywhere. If history is any guide at all we're still due for a pounding rain or two before it's all over.

And then mid-afternoon it turned cold. Cloudy and cold. So much for taking the pulse of the street - it just flat-lined. My other barometer - the stock market; is a bit worse than flat-line. It's a solid red-line as far as the eye can see. You could ski down that slope but the lifts are all out of order.
