Decided to flip the tube to some mindless entertainment instead of my usual short news blast (though one could argue that it is equally mindless entertainment). Flipped up a channel and was treated to just about the goriest bloodfest I've ever witnessed. And trust me - I've seen my fair share of slash and gash films. But my blood never races anymore with the drama. It's just pure violence for the sake of market share. At some point it even ceases to be entertaining. Watch a dozen or two people all die of just about the most horrible death circumstances the human brain can imagine. Spear through the head. Emergency ship flare in the stomach. Harpoon through the testicles. A few hundred CD's that cut into a girl like ninja stars. No thanks. Whatever this network is selling, I really don't want any.
