Moving right along... Today with any luck the stove and fridge should be installed, and the dishwasher put in place but not yet installed (requires sink - which is still on order).

Update - just after lunchtime and both are done. Believe this calls for a celebratory grilled steak and a glass or three of ZD Chardonnay this evening. Paper plates for now... The sink arrives this evening.

After dumping $50k into this thing it was nice to discover that it's a cool kitchen. I've stood every place and looked at it from all directions and all angles now. And no matter which way I turn, the first thought which comes to mind is 'this is a cool kitchen'. Think I've got a winner. It's small, not one of these three acre kitchens you see in the style rags with 16 dishwashers and five mixmaster stations, with no less than 75 square feet alloted to removing the corks from wine bottles. But for its cozy size, you can easily poach an egg or brew 50 gallons of beer. Grill salmon for two and/or throw a party for 100. Incredibly versatile. In fact, that was the goal. This is a cool kitchen.

Ya' just can't win. MP3.COM was just acquired by Vivendi. Sheesh. I put my music there because they were independant of the major labels. Suppose they were destined to get snapped up at some point though. It's a lot like going to work for an Internet 'startup' and ending up part of the largest media empire (and record labels) on the planet. Or put another way, it's a lot like waking up in a snake pit and being Indiana ("I hate snakes") Jones.
