I spend a good portion of each year in Thailand,because my wife is Thai. I've often been asked these last few months about the coup that happened in 2006. Here's an example of what I've tried to say in response:
I spend some of the year in Thailand with my Thai daughter-in-law (from a former marriage) and granddaughter. I enjoy spending time with Thai friends also, just outside of Tak, Thailand. I love Thai food and the Thai people. I also love weather where 80 degrees send folks to the closet for a jacket....
In the US I work for the premier tax preparation company, Mike's favorite American restaurant and (if there's a big storm) the much-maligned federal emergency relief agency. Otherwise, I hang with my 15 year old Siamese cat and play games.
