Mondays are a bit different here than any other trade I've

Mondays are a bit different here than any other trade I've been in. Doesn't matter that I came home last night and polished off a small bottle of rum. I still was up at 8 and working my butt off before 9 to get the shop ready for the next week. Orders to place, a couple to unpack (hooray), and we're off to the races again. I just have to defer the hangover until I get home tonight. No time for it now. Sold a guitar within five minutes of opening. However this time I didn't sell a second a few minutes later. Oh well. Just another case of trying to find patterns in this business when there really are none.

Eat my own words - turns out there was a pattern today. Not a good one though. Most everybody today only wanted stuff that was under 5 bucks. Need a whole lot of those to break even and of course there weren't a whole lot today. Monday ya' know. But another two hours and I can go home and wallow in that hangover.

Will be starting a store email newsletter soon. If you want to get your name on the list send me an email. No I won't send you marketing crap. Just kinda' like a neighborhood newsletter every couple months. Though I might think about (buy a guitar today) sneaking in some (want a new flute?) subtle subliminal advertising...

Now I'm laughing. I sold the second guitar. It was just a few hours later. It was the third time this guy came to look at it. He's seen it and thought about it for a week or so and he still wanted it, though he wasn't a terribly decisive kind of guy. Time to sink the hook and reel him in.
