My shop isn't very large; and I'm very attentive to what's going on. So how could it possibly be that two of my finest guitars were dropped and heavily damaged and I didn't witness either event? I've got to do better. While I was busy serving another customer, somebody walked in - reached for a guitar and was looking at it (a typical event); Went oops and it fell and then they quietly put it back on the rack and walked quickly away. Twice. I have no choice but to deal with the loss. What's tearing me up is the need to put even stronger restrictions on touching things. It's a music store, by nature it's a hands on business. The signs already say to please ask, but I've been a music store customer all my life and nobody ever does. Including me. But I can't let this happen again. Once was an annoyance. Twice starts to hurt.

Oh well - best to have a few of the hard lessons thrown my way early... I'm a pretty quick learner.
