And the dreaded Monday morning returns.
And the dreaded Monday morning returns. But wait - what's so dreaded? I have zero meetings scheduled for the first time in years. My alarm clock has been blinking since the power outage Friday. No need to reset it now; maybe I'll just unplug the infernal thing. Maybe go hunt down the speaker wires on the r2d2 dishwasher and snip them while I'm at it. The yard still needs a lot of work. Maybe start tearing down the old shed. Looks like a nice day to do pretty much whatever I want...
Update: So I spent about half the day on the yard, mostly getting the brick pathway started. Cleaned out the grill which had a heavy load of grease to burn off from the party last week. Then spent a whole lot of time getting my dial-up service (for when I'm out of town) switched over to a new providor since I can't use the Netscape Bay-Networks dialup or even AOL anymore. It was pleasant to get rid of the SERA crapware; but it didn't go away easily - in fact it flat out refused to un-install (Secure Extranet Remote Access, or in simpler terms a proprietary variant of IPSec which doesn't work with any other standard variants, making it useless outside a Wintel environment; which is where I predominantly live). But I'm a determined kind of guy and finally wiped out all the files and registry entries by hand. It's gone forever.
AOL, also gone. In fact that was the high moment of the day. Might be fired, but I'm now retired and by the way your pathetic mediocre software has been fucking deleted. The CDs aren't very good frisbees and the hole makes them also unstuitable for coasters. Nevertheless I'll throw the discs in the plastic recycling bin and let Pasco Sam figure out if they have any inherent scrap value.
