The refinance is closed as soon as FedEx delivers the stuff. As a side effect, I have a month without a mortgage payment. Yippee! Oh sure, I'll pay for it later, but every little bit helps right now.

Day four of the new business model. Nothing obviously different on the bottom line. Just have to give it time. But I've already gotten glimmers of hope. There are more real adult musicians browsing the merchandise. Not just moms with a possel of young'uns in tow; most of whom have never touched a real guitar before. That's good. It's kinda' hard for a music store to survive without having some musicians stop by once in a while.

By the end of the day, the tally was two guitars and a handful of picks and strings. Hey, two guitars is good. I've managed a few on some Saturdays, but it's rare for a weekday. Cheap guitars, but I think I mentioned, I don't care. More eyeballs popping. The semi-regulars that I do have are mostly local boys who don't shop anywhere else because it's out of skateboard range. They're wetting their pants 'cause it's like the same stuff as last week, but this week the $3000 guitar - the best one, is $1999. It gets a second and even a third glance. In the past, nobody could look these bad boys in the eye after getting over the sticker shock.

I've got Jim Morrison on the brain. I'm one of those folks who still believes he lived out his fantasy of just vanishing and living out his life in obscurity. It was all too weird and all too convenient for him and his wife to just die in some unknown French village whilst he faced prosecution for ever setting foot in his own country again. Seems the boy danced naked one night when he was pretty high. C'mon folks, I've danced naked when I was pretty high. Jim's only crime was the fifty thousand fans and the TV cameras.
