Lessee... I wrote the last page five days ago. That's how long it took me to upgrade the operating system. I should probably comment on RedHat, the producers of this particular brand of Linux. They came into existence as the folks who brought Linux to the masses because they wrote an installer that didn't require a geek. But the big money is in selling to corporations. So they now have a new price structure, and no longer sell the consumer version. But you can buy untested CD's from third parties. Great. I bought some. They arrived five days ago. I must've installed the thing thirty times at an hour or three each time. Random crashes. Trying to send white noise through the video port, that kind of thing. It's nice to see that the more things change the more they remain the same. Linux is still pretty much for geeks. Like me. I finally got it installed, but only because I was able to login from remotely from another computer and configure the monitor. Hadn't seen those blinking smiley faces in a long time.
