Yesterday we saw hints of our troops' vulnerability.

Yesterday we saw hints of our troops' vulnerability. The Iraqis aren't attacking us from the front. They're closing in behind us as the machines roll through and sniping the mechanics and fourth-line troops from behind. We process the surrendering soldiers and let them go home, where they pick up a new gun and live to fight another day. They probably have conscripts whose sole job is to be processed and let go - over and over. Meanwhile we're still rolling towards Baghdad. We seem to have exhausted our surprises, and with the exception of the first fusilade - they weren't all that surprising. Now it's turning into a nasty ground war. Our generals chose to do this the hard way, for whatever reason. We aren't going to walk all over them like we did last time, or like we did in Khabul.

We are also reminded daily that the Iraqi leadership is losing its grip. There isn't a lot of evidence to support this notion. Let's call a spade a spade. It's all part of the propoganda campaign.

Actually the whole thing is starting to look like a bad sequel to a Mad Max movie.

Falling in Love
When two people have been on enough dates, they generally fall in
love. You can tell you're in love by the way you feel: your head becomes
light, your heart leaps within you, you feel like you're walking on air,
and the whole world seems like a wonderful and happy place. Unfortunately,
these are also the four warning signs of colon disease, so it's always a
good idea to check with your doctor.
