Not that I've got a crystal ball or anything, but when it
Not that I've got a crystal ball or anything, but when it comes to the Federal Reserve, this isn't rocket science. The market ended up going down today because some folks were expecting yet another 50BP cut; and they only got 25BP. Poor babies... The Fed isn't here to make your stock go up, sorry to inform you. They're here to nudge the economy away from runaway extremes. But WTF happened to Nortel and Lucent? I don't own either but wow. They look like dot-coms now.
What I discovered that led to brain fade yesterday is that the USB networking card isn't quite supported by Linux. But it took a lot of hours to reach that determination. The driver and kernel support exists. The technology exists to hot-swap network adapters through the USB port. The only problem is that all of these pieces don't yet play together seamlessly. RedHat is working on it as are lots of independant groups. But I fell into the trap of looking up my adapter, seeing that the driver was in the current kernel - and then trying to hack it together and tweak the config files until it worked. That worked for the sound card. All without reading the release notes which explained in very simple terms that there's no way in heck I was going to do it on my own. Next release maybe - unless I join one of the USB groups and help them out. My plate is more than full right now and I've got a workaround; so... case closed.
So there's now a lawsuit (and counter-suit) against the Survivor corporation alleging that things were rigged. I'm shocked... shocked that a major television event would be manipulated in some form for the sake of ratings. Right. This has never happened before. Uh-huh...

Don't say "yes" until I finish talking.
