My Father's Day present was a lovely framed photo.
My Father's Day present was a lovely framed photo. But the biggest
present of all was the card. On it was printed "DADDY
{drawing-of-a-heart} YOU", and signed "BELLA". Granted she was working
from a template and had some coaching, but she actually put all the
words/letters on the card. Her 'Y's need a bit of work, but I'm not
going to let that spoil the moment. My girl is learning to write!
This was my first interstate trip in an open-air vehicle (Jeep with
the top down). I had no idea... California has lots of
micro-climates, and I felt every one of them. Sometimes the
temperature would drop by 10-15 degrees for just a couple of miles and
then warm back up again. I could feel the heat radiating off of every
freeway overpass where it had collected all day. I was also impressed
that cruise control actually works with a stick shift. I've gotten
used to cruise control on the big Jeep, but the little one did just
fine. When you hit a hill that's beyond the ability to keep up, the
speed drops (naturally), and the auto-pilot disengages as soon as you
hit the clutch to downshift. I only had to do this maybe three times
on the 500 mile journey.
A couple of my songs will be featured this week on the "Bottom of
the Bay" internet radio station (MP3.COM). I better get crackin'
and record some new tunes. I'm frankly amazed at the distribution I've
gotten out of this old garage stuff.
