Now that I'm mostly caught up after my trip, it's back to working out taxes again. Yuck. AMT is evil. Whoever dreamed it up should be strung up and pelted with rotten eggs. I'm even getting hit with a penalty for not withholding enough on deferred income; i.e. it's all on paper and is total fiction. Chances are it will never be realized, but I have to pay taxes and penalties on it anyway. This highlights the depths to which our corrupt tax system has fallen. Taxing imaginary money. I'd think it was hilarious, but it's really not at all funny. In fact, it's pretty darn spooky.

Ordered a new hub and print server. It only took a year to outgrow my 8-port. Hopefully I'll be able to live with 16 for a while longer than that; but who knows (?) when every electronic item on the market will come with an RJ-45 jack on it. Hopefully we'll have bluetooth before then.

Started ripping out the old sprinkler system yesterday. Ah, destruction. What fun.
