And so we give pause and celebrate some dude that allegedly drove all the rats from Ireland and hence was annointed to sainthood. Or did I get my story crossed with some other ancient urban legend? Whatever. No, I'm not Irish. Or at least not any significant percentage that I'm aware of. I'm wearing blue today. Go ahead, pinch me. That's another strange tradition I'll have to research someday.
Stayed late at the store last night re-arranging a bit. Today finished the second medicine cabinet in the bathroom. Forgot about that didn't you? Progress is slow these days but only the shower glass remains now.
Then started the search for the remaining receipt I need for my taxes. This was not fun. All my receipts for everything for the last two years were all thrown into a large bin, not in any particular order. Doing taxes last year was hard enough but this year it was even worse since I didn't start a new box - and also recall that the year 2000 was a pretty high flying year so there were a lot of receipts to go through. Found the one I was looking for. Now to resist the urge to throw everything back into the bin and actually file everything in appropriate folders. Yarghhh.
Picked up a clarinet for the first time - well I mean not the first time I ever picked one up but the first time I ever tried to play the thing. Managed to get through the entire 'doe, a deeer; a female deer' within about five minutes. OK, a few squawks but not bad for a first try. Sax is next on the list. I didn't do so hot at flute. I can get it to resonate no problem, but I'm missing covering some important hole or lever that makes the rest of them work. Can do a trumpet scale but it gives me a headache. Then violin is another trouble instrument. I can play a scale on it but it just wasn't intended to be played backward left handed. Luckily mandolin is the same tuning and I've been learning mandolin for quite a while.

Gratitude and treachery are merely the two extremities of the same procession.
You have seen all of it that is worth staying for when the band and the gaudy
officials have gone by.
