My body aches, my brain aches, but I did pretty much what I said I was going to do yesterday, though there are still a few pieces to go. The X10 stuff interfaces pretty easily with the web - though I'm using a weird combination of programming languages to put it all together seamlessly. The old laptop is now running my operating system of choice. The footing and first tier of concrete is done for the next stretch of the great wall. Didn't spend a lot of time on the stealth project, but I'll get to it this afternoon.
Even though I first saw it maybe five years ago, it's still a bit strange seeing a laptop running Unix. It's a total mark of a rebel. I doubt the modem is going to work though - so I might have to get a pcmcia version; and I also had to resort to a pcmcia network card because the usb ethernet adapter is pretty strange. I didn't expect it to work either and of course it didn't let me down. But both might work in the latest RedHat release - this one is a bit old and new drivers are coming out every day. They usually lag the sanctioned Microsoft drivers anywhere from 3 months to a year depending on how helpful the manufacturer is in providing hardware details.

It is so soon that I am done for, I wonder what I was begun for.
