The Rumsfield says he had no idea; not a clue that things

The Rumsfield says he had no idea; not a clue that things would be this bad a year after the invasion. Uhm, isn't this the whole problem? Nobody had a clue going into this thing. The politicos can read Americans like a book. 39% think this, 42% think that. But our so-called intelligence has been failing us consistently for quite some time when it comes to international affairs. They couldn't tell us precisely when and where Osama would strike. They also apparently hadn't infiltrated the Iraqi chemical weapons program. But they could've let us know what we were up against with a simple poll of the Iraqis; which they still haven't done. But I can tell you the results. An overwhelming majority hated Saddam Hussein, probably about 65%. 20% had been made rich by Saddam and supported him. The rest would be too terrified to answer. But now ask them what they think of George Bush and the Americans. They hate us more. Probably somewhere north of 80%.

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: He was giving it last rites.
