Hmmm...
Hmmm... A couple of fishy looking numbers on my state tax return. Need to investigate further. It's probably right but my deductions have been limited and I want to know if I can get a few back.
There's definitely a natural rhythm to cash flow management. Now I've gotta' learn how to dance to it. A little off beat at the moment. Need to have a few words with my accountant. Hey Mikey....
Locked the store and came home and it was still daylight - for the first time. Gee, maybe this means I can start working on the back yard again sometime soon. The cramped weekend (as in Sunday) is pretty dicey for such a long term project. Need to keep that open for home chores and whatever recreational time there is - not much. To manage that I've crammed what I used to do on Sunday (all the odds and ends at the store) into Saturday night. Close the doors, crank up the tunes, have a beer and catch up on all the stuff I can't do with people there.
Alas, my tax strategy wasn't too bad. Checked out the fishy numbers and found that they were caused by a sliding scale which limits itemized deductions the more money you make. This was all due to being forced to sell the rest of my AOL stock - an event which I hadn't completely factored into my tax strategy. But I got lucky. Came pretty close to breaking even with the fed, but have to pay more than I'd like to the state. But here's the cool thing - tax strategy has to take into account multiple years. Everything I pay to the state is deductible from my fed return next year. With just a wee bit of number crunching I think I can wipe out federal taxes for the next five years. I just have to try to preserve those deductions that roll forward and not stack up too many that can only be taken in a particular year. Might be past that point for this year. However even this has a bright side because I can make buckets of money this year and still not pay anything but Social Security. Just have to figure out how to make buckets of money...
Found a chocolate bunny - rather large which somehow survived due to being very well hidden (there was a reason). A pound of solid milk chocolate. First the ears...
