It was about 1300 years ago.
It was about 1300 years ago. Harun al-Rashid was out sport hunting. He was the king and that's what kings did for fun. Found a place that spooked his dogs and his horse. So he asked around. No doubt he asked at the local funeral home - the only business for miles. And what a thriving business it was (and still is to this day). It's also probably the multitude of decaying corpses that spooked his animals. Oh yeah, this is where the prophet's son-in-law was buried in an unmarked grave about 175 years ago. Rumour has it that Abraham himself bought the whole darn valley for grazing land and lived right over there and Noah's son got killed in a quake right over there just before the great flood. The first seventy thousand people to be buried here go straight to heaven. And you do want to go to heaven don't you? Anyway Harun builds a temple to mark the spot (or has it done - after all, he's the king). He doesn't seem to have seriously questioned where they got the seventy thousand number from. When Abraham bought the place it was called the 'Valley of Peace'. Ironic. Nowadays they call it 'Najaf'.
It is generally considered bad form to feel up the bride at her wedding (unless you're the groom). You probably should refrain from such behaviour in the Phillipines if they've run out of potato chips. Some chap who did so got cut up, fried in coconut leaves and served to the guests alongside the champagne.
