Long day today. Started at about 4AM.
Long day today. Started at about 4AM. Trying to finish up the last remnants of my to-do list. Did OK. Got PG&E transferred and picked up the new store sign. Got a look into the attic at the store which contains 45 years of seriously damaged or otherwise useless instruments and marketing crap. A few items turned out to be extremely interesting... Brand new in-the-package vinyl covers for Fender Bassman amplifiers - which were last made in the mid-seventies. These probably have some value in the collector's market. I doubt that there are very many owners of the amplifiers who still have the vinyl cover and the amps themselves fetch a good price in the vintage market. Then I came across several Japanese made electric guitars from the sixties. Used but good condition, in fact better than any guitar I've seen from that period. I'll have to check my vintage instrument guidebook but suspect that a couple of these are so rare as to command top collector dollars. In fact they're so rare they might not even be in the book. Then there was the very first model of the Vox wah-wah pedal; also from the mid-sixties. It's missing the insides but looks so retro that it also might have some value to serious collectors. All this only digging in a few feet. There's much more to be discovered. Tony Sr. is an accordion player and will probably hold on to the dozen or so vintage accordions...
Lots accomplished - now it's time to kick back with some al-Quahal and watch the latest news about the al-Queda.
